D7 Kutrovice – Panenský Týnec

Project Overview

The D7 Kutrovice–Panenský Týnec project is part of the long-term modernisation of the Prague–Chomutov–Saxony route. It involves upgrading the existing two-lane I/7 road to a four-lane motorway. Its main benefit is a substantial improvement in safety by eliminating accident-prone locations at at-grade junctions. The upgrade will also improve traffic flow, shorten journey times and increase capacity on this important link between Prague, the industrial areas of north-western Bohemia and Saxony. Noise-reduction measures are also included to lessen the impact of traffic exceeding 10,000 vehicles a day on nearby areas.
